MacKenzie Fischer, MSW, APSW (she, her, & hers)

MacKenzie obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021 and her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2022, where her focus area was Children, Youth, and Families. She is currently an advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW) working towards her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure. MacKenzie has experience working with individuals from many different backgrounds and populations, and wholeheartedly enjoys building relationships with her clients and coworkers. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of emotional, behavioral, and substance use concerns through in-home therapy, outpatient settings, and Comprehensive Community Services (CCS).

MacKenzie’s approach is influenced by many different cognitive approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. She views her clients through a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens to ensure that clients feel empowered and supported. MacKenzie recognizes the basic human desire for connection and strives to create safe spaces for her clients. She is passionate about meeting her clients “where they are at,” on their mental health and/or substance use journey, and actively works to empower her clients to create change in their lives. MacKenzie has a strong passion for social justice and advocacy and believes that every person deserves to live a fulfilling life.

In her free time, MacKenzie spends a lot of time with her family and friends, especially her dogs, Murphy and Griffin. She enjoys watching the Badgers and Packers, reading, watching The Food Network or crime shows, photography, and travelling.

MacKenzie provides Comprehensive Community Services to Columbia and Sauk counties. MacKenzie is accepting new patients.
