Lizzie Kinnison, MSW, APSW (she/her, & hers)

Lizzie obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work from Pennsylvania Western University - Edinboro. She is currently an Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW) and working towards her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Lizzie has experience in Family Care, Inpatient settings, Outpatient settings, and Comprehensive Community Services (CCS).Her experience so far includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families with a varying range of emotional and behavior concerns. Her approach pulls from a variety of cognitive approaches such as Motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and somatic/sensory approaches.
Lizzie uses a client-directed and strength-based approach to ensure clients are feeling heard and supported. She strives to connect individuals to the outdoors and develop the ability to find safety within themselves. Lizzie recognizes the impact that trauma has within individuals/systems and always uses a trauma informed and diversity informed lens. She is passionate about meeting clients 'where they are at' on their mental health journey and creating a sense of safety and support to work towards their desired goals. She strives to not only be advocates for her clients, but help clients get to the point where they can advocate on their own behalf.
Lizzie is a trained SMART therapist (Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment), as a Certified Advanced Grief Counselor (CAGC), and certified in Brainspotting.
Lizzie is also trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing(CISD) and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). She is available to do Defusings and Critical Incident Debriefs for your agency as well as annual wellness checks for your staff.
In her free time, she loves to be outside with her family and pets. She enjoys traveling to different areas in Wisconsin, reading, and spending time near water.
Lizzie provides outpatient services virtually and at the Reedsburg office and Comprehensive Community Services to Dodge, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe and Sauk counties. Lizzie is accepting new patients.
