Kelly Michiels-Weldon, LPC (she, her, & hers)
Kelly (she/her/hers) is a compassionate clinical mental health counselor dedicated to building supportive, trusting relationships with her clients. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance empowers individuals to face and overcome life's challenges. Kelly strives to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all of her clients, celebrating the diverse intersection of identities including gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, ability, and neurodivergence. She works hard to ensure that all clients feel respected, understood, and supported in their unique experiences.
With over six years of experience in partial hospitalization and residential programs in various roles, Kelly specializes in evidence-based treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. She works with individuals across the lifespan, beginning at age 7, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults. Kelly is passionate about supporting clients through life transitions, including grief and loss, relationship changes, career decisions, and school-related concerns or avoidance.
Approaching therapy from a humanistic perspective, Kelly integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) into her practice and has a keen interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She works to tailor these lenses to be neurodiversity- and LGBTQ-affirming. Her ultimate goal is to help clients build resilience and confidence as they navigate their mental health journeys and embrace their full selves.
Outside of her professional life, Kelly enjoys hiking and camping with her dogs and husband, tackling home improvement projects, spending time with friends and family, and exploring Madison and beyond.
Kelly provides outpatient services virtually and at the Waunakee office and Comprehensive Community Services to Columbia, Dane, Dodge and Sauk counties. Kelly is not currently accepting new patients.
