Gil Saylor, LPC-IT

Gil knows life can be messy and believes no one should have to sort it out alone. After nearly three decades as a teacher, he saw just how much mental health impacts students, families, and communities. That experience inspired him to trade lesson plans for counseling sessions. Gil’s approach is rooted in compassion, humor, and the belief that healing happens best in a safe, supportive relationship.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from UW–Oshkosh in 1996, a master’s in Secondary Education from Viterbo University in 2003, and a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UW-Superior in 2025.

Gil works with clients of all ages in CCS across Sauk, Adams, Columbia, and Monroe counties, and sees outpatient clients in Tomah, Reedsburg, and virtually. His counseling style blends person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, Internal Family Systems, and CBT — or in simpler terms, whatever helps you feel heard, understood, and ready to move forward.

When he’s not in session, Gil is probably outdoors hunting, riding UTVs, or playing fetch with his black lab (who usually wins). He and his wife love traveling and discovering new restaurants. After years as a die-hard sports fan, Gil has also embraced his “inner nerd” with regular sessions of Dungeons & Dragons. He swears rolling dice is therapeutic.

Gil provides Comprehensive Community Services to Adams, Columbia, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe and Sauk counties. Gil is currently accepting new CCS and outpatient patients.
