Amber Richter, LPC-IT

Amber received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UW-Superior in 2026. She believes in the power of empathy and creating a space for people to feel welcome, seen, and heard. By cultivating an environment rooted in the strength of the therapeutic alliance, she helps guide clients to best meet their unique needs. Amber sees therapy as a safe space where any story is welcome.

Amber works with clients of all ages in CCS in Columbia and Sauk counties. She sees outpatient clients at the Waunakee office and virtually. Her counseling style centers on a blend of Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) while integrating trauma-informed care and narrative therapy. Amber is passionate about helping clients with anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, depression, OCD, and eating disorders.

In her free time, she enjoys anything that revolves around books, whether that is reading, writing, or visiting Barnes and Noble. She has a passion for making and drinking coffee (and matcha), spending time with her family and fiancé, attending concerts, and exercising, particularly enjoying soccer, walks, and pickleball.

Amber provides outpatient services virtually and in person at the Waunakee office. Amber also provides Comprehensive Community Services to Columbia and Sauk counties.
