Amber Richter, Intern
Amber received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing from UW-Oshkosh in 2022 and is currently on track to earn her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UW-Superior. Amber believes in the power of empathy and creating a space for people to feel welcome, seen, and heard. By cultivating an environment that is rooted in the strength of the therapeutic alliance, she aids in guiding to best meet unique needs. Amber sees therapy as a safe space where any story is welcome.
Amber works with clients of all ages in CCS in the Sauk, Columbia, and Dane counties. She sees outpatient clients in Waunakee, Reedsburg, and virtually. Her counseling style is centered in a blend of Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while integrating trauma-informed care and narrative therapy. Amber is passionate about helping clients through anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and depression.
In her free time, she enjoys anything that revolves around books, whether that be reading, writing, or going to Barnes and Noble. She has a passion for making and drinking coffee (and matcha), spending time with family, attending concerts, and exercising with a particular joy for playing soccer, going for walks, and pickleball.
